Who will be our 2010 Biggest Turkey?
It’s Almost Turkey day!! Who will be our turkey this year?
Get Ready to Vote!! The race is on! GOBBLE, GOGGLE!

Beginning today, Friday, Nov 12th through next Thurs. Nov 18th, students will have the opportunity at lunch time to buy a vote to go Turkey Bowling and for their favorite MCMS staff member to be our Turkey for a Day!
For fifty cents you get two votes, one vote you choose a staff member to be our Turkey of the Day and one vote that will enter you into the Turkey Bowl Challenge.

The staff member with the most votes at the end of the contest will be declared “The Biggest Turkey!” Oh, and that “Big Turkey” gets to also wear a really cool turkey costume the entire day!
* (Mr. Riddle has immunity as he was voted our Favorite Turkey last year)

Your other vote will also enter you into the Turkey Bowl challenge!
On Fri. Nov. 19th, 5 students from each grade level will have their name drawn from the votes and will be demonstrating their bowling techniques as they attempt to bowl frozen turkeys across the cafeteria floor! The winner from each grade will win a prize. OHhhhhhh…. What Fun!

The proceeds from our Turkey Day contest will go to the Front Office Administration Dept to purchase needed supplies.

So remember, voting starts at lunchtime on Friday, November 12th through Thursday, November 18th. Turkey bowling will be on Friday, Nov. 19th.
Votes are just fifty cents each! So get your votes in, and vote as many times as you like!

Volleyball – The Lady Minutemen Volleyball Team finished their season on Wednesday. Our first match was against Down East. We lost that match with scores of 22-25 and 21-25. The girls played hard with awesome serves from Blair Pierce and Emma Gomez, and we had an amazing tip from Kristen Wagner. The ceiling at Smyrna was a hard factor to get past in that game.

During our second match, the girls fought hard, in the end beating Newport Middle with scores of 16-25, 25-22, and 15-8. During this match, Ruthie Brady had a great tip; awesome dives from Holly Sautner, Kristen Wagner, and Ana Garcia guarded the net with great tenacity! The ceiling at Smyrna had it in for us again, but thanks to Colleen Taylor we were able to rescue the 4 volleyballs that got stuck in the ceiling net.

Awesome matches girls. It has been a great season and your coaches are very, very proud of you!

Boys Soccer – On Wednesday, the boys’ soccer team was victorious over the Newport Eagles with a score of 4-2. With three goals coming from Robert Herbst and rocket of a goal from George Rose, the defense was able to hold off the Eagles attack! GREAT JOB MINUTEMEN!
