MCMS is looking for a parent that would like to volunteer to help with the school news program. We need a tech savvy parent that would be comfortable running video cameras, editing, and working with students to create a student led news program. Parent volunteers would be needed to be able to meet twice a week on a flexible schedule. Please contact Megan Curley by e-mail if interested. megan.curley@carteretk12.org

Summer Read = The BATTLE 2010
This year, the Summer Reading committee along with commentary from the students decided to host the battle between Guys and Gals. Our Summer Read consisted of a guy title: Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz and a gal title: I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have to Kill You by Ally Carter. Both of these reading adventures curtail the lives of the secret spy world. Are you man enough to try the gal title? Are you woman enough to try the guy title? Make sure you read one of the titles, and for a stronger chance of victory, read both titles. Be ready to BATTLE it out at the beginning of the new school year and ready for some spy missions of your own. Oh, the possibilities...Get your copy now at school during your lunch hour for $5.
