Media Mania News …. Don’t get caught without a BOOK!
BEAT THE WORLD RECORD: Be sure to sign up for Beat the World Record. If everyone in our school participates and records the minutes they read per day, we could be one of 20 schools to be recorded in Scholastics Book of World Records. It's easy. It's free. There are other activities on the site you might find interesting. Check it out. Visit the media blog under the Student menu on the school website for more information. Warrior Bash
Students get ready to have the ultimate summer slam celebration. This is a PBS event combined with literacy and sponsored by your summer reading committee. We have an 18foot SKY HIGH Slide mission, test your strength with Super Boxing, a Jousting ring, Warrior Paint, and much, much more. BE prepared to have FUN on the last day of school. We have 30 events planned for you on the field. You will need to wear sunscreen, sun glasses, and hats. You may bring a bottle of water. Concessions will be available.
Parents - I need your help. We have a list of items we need to make the event successful. We need man power. We need trucks. If you can help in any way or form, please contact Dega Lancaster ASAP (dega.lancaster@carteretk12.org or call 726-1126)

Summer Read = The BATTLE 2010
This year, the Summer Reading committee along with commentary from the students decided to host the battle between Guys and Gals. Our Summer Read consists of a guy title: Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz and a gal title: I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have to Kill You by Ally Carter. Both of these reading adventures curtail the lives of the secret spy world. Are you man enough to try the gal title? Are you woman enough to try the guy title? Make sure you read one of the titles, and for a stronger chance of victory, read both titles. Be ready to BATTLE it out come August 2010 and be ready for some spy missions of your own. Oh, the possibilities...
Get your copy now at school during your lunch hour for $5. We ordered limited copies. Local book stores are carrying the titles, and some will provide you with a discount if you mention you are a MCMS student.

Warrior Heir Committee
Warrior Heir Committee will meet Wednesday, June 2, Thursday, June 3 until 4:30. They will meet Friday, June 4 until 3:45 and Monday, June 7 until 4:30. They need to arrive Tuesday, June 8 at 7:15 am.
Parents of committee members should plan to help if available.

Summer Golf Clinic – Minutemen, do you like to play golf? If so, the Morehead City Country Club is offering a Junior Clinic this summer for boys and girls ages 6-11. They are also offering an Advanced Golf Clinic for boys and girls ages 12-up. These summer long clinics offer high quality instruction at a very reasonable price. It would be a great way to learn how to play golf if you are interested in trying out for the golf team. It would also be an excellent way to improve the skill you have. For information and an informative flier see Mr. Lewis.
