Testing Time is here! Beginning Tuesday, May 17th we are in desperate need of proctors for our EOG Testing week. We need 45 each day! Please call 726-1126 if you can help!
Attention! Volunteers needed!
Volunteers must attend a short training session in order to proctor for EOG tests. Please contact Jason Miles or Debbie Butcher to set up a time. Proctors are asked to attend one session only. If you have attended proctor training at another school this year, please let us know. You will not have to repeat the training. Thank you for all your help!
Here are all the dates of EOG’s slated for the remainder of May, and June.
* EOG Student Survey: Monday, May 16th
*Reading EOG 6, 7th, and 8th: Tuesday, May 17
*Math EOG 6th, 7th, and 8th: Wednesday, May 18th Calculator Active and Thursday, May 19th Calculator Inactive
Makeup EOG Test: Friday, May 20
Reading Retest 6th, 7th, and 8th: Tuesday, May 24
Math Retest 6th, 7th, and 8th: Thursday, May 26th and Friday, May 27th
*Algebra 1 EOC: Thursday, June 2
Algebra 1 Retest: Monday, June 6
*Please make sure your child gets a good night’s rest and has a good breakfast!
This will be a great way to start their testing day.
Our FINAL PTO MEETING of the 2010 - 2011 school year is May 31st at 8:15. We had to work around EOG's. This meeting will be in the 8th grade lobby by the cafeteria. (Yogurt parfaits as a treat for all) Please join us!
Morehead Middle Spring Band Concert – Thursday, June 2, 1011
The Sixth Grade Concert…………………………………..6 P.M.
• We ask that the 6th Grade Band meet in the Band Room at 5:30 P.M.
• The concert will also feature the debut performance by the MCMS Jazz Band
• Dress will be “Sunday Best” School Dress Code will be in effect. Please refrain from wearing tee shirts, shorts, or flip flops.
• Free Admission. Morehead Middle School Gymnasium
The Seventh and Eighth Grade Concert…………….7:30 P.M.
• We ask that the 8th Grade Band meet in Band Room at 7:00 P. M.
• We ask that the 7th Grade Band meet in the Gym at 7:00 P.M.

SOFTBALL - If you would like a 2011 softball t-shirt, you need to give your size and $10 to Mrs. Tarter by Friday (May 20). No t-shirt orders will be taken after this time.
*West Carteret Color Guard – The West Carteret Color invites you be part of the “Winning Tradition” today, Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 4:00pm – 5:30pm at West Carteret High School’s Band Room. All clinic information will be handed out at this time. We are looking for young females who have an interest in Dance, Performance and Leadership. See you there!
Football Camp - There will be a one day football camp for linemen at Havelock High School on Saturday, May 21st. Registration is from 8 am to 9 am and the camp goes from 9 am to 3 pm. The cost of the camp $40.00, the participants will receive a camp T-shirt and lunch. If you have any questions, please see coach DeGiule for more information.
Carteret County 4-H Summer Programs - Information is now available. If you are interested in attending a 4-H summer program please pick up this information in the office or in the lunchroom.
Rachel’s Challenge Chain Links Schedule: We will not be having a Chain Links meeting after school for the remainder of the school year. We strongly encourage students to attend the lunch time meeting instead.
The last lunch time meeting for the Rachel’s Challenge Chain Links groups will be on Thursday, June 2nd. Mark your calendars!

General Mills Box Tops Fundraiser – Attention Parents...You can make a difference! Collect Box Tops from participating General Mills and affiliates products and earn cash for MCMS!!!
Just clip the marked Box Top labels and send them in to MCMS with your student. Each top is worth 10 cents and it adds up fast!!! Also, please ask family and friends to collect the tops, earning extra money for school needs will be so easy! Remember, every Box Top label counts!!!
Lowe’s Food Gift Cards - Our PTO continues to sell Lowe's Food gift cards for $50 each. Our school profits 6% on each card sold. Please plan to purchase a Lowe's gift card by writing a check to MCMS PTO or paying cash. This is a great way to support our school. Parents may come into the office to purchase cards at any time.
Bojangle Gift Cards - MCMS PTO is also selling Bojangle Cards for $5 each. They are a $15 value at Bojangles. Bojangle cards are available in our office.
