Congratulations to Our 8th Grade Band – Congratulations to 8th Grade Band Students Morgan Phillips, Chris Domel and Jacob Smith. This weekend they traveled to Thomasville, N. C. to audition for the NC All-State Band. They performed very well and ALL three were accepted into the All-State Band! These students worked extremely hard for this opportunity and Mr. Neptune and the entire band program are very proud.

PBiS Celebration Honoring Our TROOPS! – Friday, March 18th we will kick off for the troops!

This PBiS celebration we are honoring our troops! When Col. Sanford was here speaking to our students during Rachel's Challenge, he mentioned putting together care packages for our special ones serving our country. After meeting with the RC groups, they wish to approach it as follows:

  • A poster board will be placed on the cafeteria door. The goal is to put together a puzzle of an USA scene. As each homeroom brings in 10 items, they will be given one puzzle piece.
  • The homeroom that brings in the most items will go on a field trip to package up these items for the troops.
  • Students will bring in the supplies (all can be purchased at the $1 store) to their homeroom teacher starting on March 18. This should happen during homeroom time only.
  • Once a teacher has collected 10 items, the teacher fills out a slip of paper (placed in your boxes) indicating how many items collected that day and send it down to the Faculty lounge by the front office.
  • The student will then receive the puzzle piece (with a number on the back which corresponds with the location on the poster board and place it on the cafeteria door in its designated spot. The goal is the fill up the remaining puzzle slots. This will let staff and students know daily how many more items we need to reach our goal of 3000 items. That would send 300 care packages.
  • Rachel's Challenge representatives will be speaking to homerooms to spread the word. They will be making posters and making announcements during lunch. One student is writing a letter to the editor of the newspaper to get the community involved.
  • Students will need to bring money on Friday if they wish to buy concessions (popcorn, candy, drinks).

"Get Your Yearbook!” - Students get your order form and order your yearbook now. To order a yearbook please complete the information on the order form, place your $25.00 payment inside the envelope and take your order form to the office during your homeroom by April 8, 2011. Students, please make sure you turn in your yearbook orders to the front office - only the front office.

* Don't miss out because ordering now will guarantee that you will get a 2010-2011 yearbook in June."
